From our St. Lucia lodge, Explore Cape Vidal:

Cape Vidal is situated about 25 kilometres or 40 minutes (by car) north of the town of St. Lucia. To get to Cape Vidal one need to drive through the St Lucia Nature Reserve that boasts extraordinary views of the lake a well as ample wildlife. On you way there take a turn to the right and visit Mission Rock, one of the very attractive and popular fishing spots in the area

From our St Lucia Resort, visit the Hluhluwe/Imfolozi Game Reserve:

The Hluhluwe/Imfolozi Game Reserve is world renowned, especially for the work that has been done in terms of Rhino conservation, the park is about 50 kilometres from St. Lucia and is ideal for a day outing. We suggest entrance at the gate close to Mtubatuba and exit at the top, close to Klutzes which is about 100 kilometres from St. Lucia. The park do accommodate the big 5 and changes are good that you may spot them all.

Tour the Khula Village and watch women weaving grass mats and get an overview of current Zulu life with visits to schools, churches, Zulu dancing and even a traditional Sangoma. Your guide, who is a resident from the village will be able to answer your questions about past and current Zulu Culture and affairs. Situated just outside of St Lucia Village, about 5 Minutes from St. Lucia Safari Lodge on the road to Cape Vidal. A series of illustrations depict the Lake St Lucia system, the sea, the beach, dune forests, grasslands and the lake shore.

Whale Watching in St. Lucia - June to November - every year:

Every year in June the humpback whales swim from Antarctica in the South to various warmer waters along the South African Indian Ocean which includes the Elephant coast where the town of St. Lucia is situated. They tend to visit the warmer Indian Ocean waters for calving from end June to end November. They then stay in this area until the calves have grown to an acceptable size and skin(fat) thickness before they return to the cold waters of the South. Whale Watching is a must if you visit the area. Danie Bennet of Advantage Tours has a wealth of knowledge that he shares gladly with those on tour with him.

Bird Watching in St. Lucia, walking distance from our B&B and Self Catering Establishment:
